Engine Strip Down

Today we stripped a few engines in pairs, and had to work as a team. we learnt all about the processes involved in a 4 stroke engine such as intake-compression-spark-exhaust. we also learnt about parts used in engines such as the camshaft, crankshaft, cam belt, piston and valves with collets, retaining washer and the valve steam seals. Another thing we learnt about is how to set the timing of an engine via the cam belt, this will set the T.D.C (Top Dead Center) and will allow the valves to open and close at the right moments so that the piston does not damage them as its coming up for the compression or spark process of the 4 stroke.
